Shamanic Healing

Shamanic healing, as practiced by the Q’ero medicine men and women of Peru, who have been described as The Masters of Living Energy by Joan Parisi Wilcox in her book of the same title, is a natural, non-intrusive and practical form of energy healing. Simultaneously contemporary and ancient in its form, it aims to bring into balance an individual's entire state of being through practices that are friendly and familiar to body, mind, and soul.

Our life and daily circumstances are often changing and unfolding at a pace over which we may feel we have little control. As we process information and deal with new challenges on a daily basis, our emotions and thoughts are continuously engaged. Our senses are often over-stimulated and we tend to absorb more than we release. Our creativity and self expression seem bound up in dealing with that which is before us, rather than flowing freely from us as an expression of our essential Self. This reactive mode of existence causes tension to build up at various levels of our being. With time, this build up of tension can have a detrimental effect on our health and overall feeling of contentment. We may feel we are on a treadmill from which we wish to step down, but fear to do so. Pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter medication generally only mitigate the symptoms and discomfort and rarely provide resolution in the long term.

With Shamanic healing, a person's energy field (luminous body) is cleansed of built-up energies and imprints from painful emotions, disruptive thoughts and the trauma of past events. This cleansing and release enable the individual to engage in life in a more vital and energetic manner. As more authentic emotions and states of being emerge, greater creativity and alignment with the essential Self take root. Consequently, the person has more conscious choice and control both of the direction in which their life is heading and how they live it.

Healing is facilitated and the individual's energies are brought back into harmony at an emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual level. As with all energy healing, Shamanic healing can be carried out in person, or at a distance.

Another important aspect of Shamanic healing is the act of making offerings for the purpose of expressing gratitude and inviting abundance, health, love and anything else we desire into our lives. This act, a despacho, is performed not only when we are desiring of those things, but also when we already have them, as reciprocity and balance are at the core of universal energetics.

The Munay Ki are rites and initiations into this particular lineage, which has its origin with the Laika medicine men and women of pre-Inka times. These rites are energetic transmissions which empower an individual who is interested in developing his or her own healing powers and acquiring the wisdom to becoming a steward and keeper of our planet and all life on it.
